The Low Cost Counselling Centre

We opened the centre in February 2007, in our Balham High Road premises. This was in response to the demand for low cost counselling which we had come across during the previous 15 years of WAP's psychotherapy work (which still continues alongside the work of the low cost centre).

  • The Centre is open to see clients 8am - 9pm weekdays, and Saturday mornings.
  • The low cost centre is staffed by 16 counsellors.
  • The counsellors are senior trainees in the final stages of their training at a variety of training institutions, or qualifed practitioners working towards registration:
    • many have experience in health care professions and related fields
    • many have already done a previous training.
  • All the counsellors are supervised regularly in-house by a member of the Coordinating Team (a highly experienced practitioner).
